It is our great pleasure to present below informative material for our Principals’, Messrs. RENERGI, Fuel combustion catalyst; the so called MERGI PFT.

Since 1981, RENERGI is focusing on the development of products exclusively related to combustion optimization. In this respect, a fuel catalyst with unique characteristics has been released, after 40 years of research in our Principals’ R&D center in Bremen-Norway.

This Premium Fuel Treatment catalyst (MERGI PFT) is already in use by major shipping conglomerates worldwide, while has also been tested by various Greek shipping companies.

Characteristics and Merits:

• MERGI PFT is a 6^th generation primary organic fuel combustion catalyst
• MERGI PFT is ideal for all grades of conventional fuels (VLSFO, HFO, MGO and DO with viscosities from 0,5cst up to 700cst)
• Dissolves asphaltenes while also prevents creation of same by cutting the long hydrocarbon chains and by reducing the polarity that causes them
• Improves fuel viscosity and ignition
• Supports the compatibility between fuels
• Use of appropriate PFT mixture is optimizing the burning process by reducing the CVI index value
• Significant reduction of soot particles on exhaust gases by at least 25% on all vessels used, while CO and NOx values improved as well (10-20% lower)
• Soot particles can be easily monitored using a soot pump supplied by RENERGI
• Due to the combustion optimization, a 2-3% of fuel savings anticipated
• Improved combustion results to cleaner combustion chamber, pistons, rings and valves, reducing the vessel’s maintenance costs

• MERGI PFT can be poured in storage tank before bunkering and/or can be injected in the settling tank supply line by a dosing system (as recommended), supplied by RENERGI
• Dosing system is coupled with the vessel’s Transfer pump. Therefore, the required volume of catalyst is being automatically adjusted, based on transfer pump capacity, avoiding the over or under dosage
